On August 12, 2018, the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that occurred in northern Alaska was recorded by Weston Observatory. Below is a seismogram of this earthquake (and a magnitude 6.4 aftershock) recorded on one of our “Raspberry Shake” seismographs.

Weston Observatory Records Magnitude 6.3 Explosion in North Korea on September 3, 2017

On September 3, 2017, the magnitude 6.3 (suspected nuclear…) explosion that occurred in North Korea was recorded by Weston Observatory. New England is very far away, so the signal is weak, but it’s there:

nk_nuke_2017-e1504453069777.pngAlso shown below (From Andy Frassetto) is a nearby station MDJ (Mudanjiang, China), where it is very clearly recorded (red seismogram), and has been clearly identified as a large explosion.
