Weston Observatory Records Magnitude 7.6 Earthquake in Honduras on January 10, 2018

On January 10, 2018, the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that occurred in Honduras was recorded by Weston Observatory.


Below is the seismogram of this earthquake recorded at Devlin Hall, Boston College.


The faulting mechanism of this earthquake was exactly as expected by geophysical studies of the tectonic motion ​of the Caribbean plate. Geophysics works!KW81_Honduras2018.png
